Boulder Backroads Marathon 2004

Well, to continue my insanity for the summer. I ran the Boulder Backroads Marathon. To make it challenging, I decided to not train (or even run a mile) for the month previous to the race.

(Actually, I was too lazy to get my butt out of the house to run in the mornings and I PAID for it on this day. ;p

But I at least did make it in under 4 hours. By sheer will-power...
(Barb and the kids were at the finish line to boost me in)

Run Forest,...

Decided to have my mid-life crisis. Mine doesn't involve a Corvette or
anything flashy like that.

Instead, I decided to run a marathon. I signed up for one at the end
of the summer in Boulder, but got talked into running in the Fort Collins
marathon at the last minute.

B-E-A-uuutiful setting.
Loooooooong way to run.

Well, we survived and I've officially become a "marathoner" with the
following times.

Not too good, not too bad.
But I DID play a soccer game two days later ;)

While we were deployed to guard weapons depots, my unit continued to train on our new MLRS systems. We fired our first rockets in January.
